Kenya’s first 5-star airport hotel, Crowne Plaza Nairobi Airport Hotel has become the first hotel in Kenya to have received its Safehotels CovidClean (TM) certification from the globally recognized Safehotels.
The CovidClean (TM) Hotel Certification is a comprehensive quality assurance certificate that reassures guests and bookers that the hotel is ready for business. It comprises of a set of hygiene procedures and pandemic protocols designed to enable hotels to assure guests that their property meets the appropriate standards. Additionally, the certification covers critical sanitation areas that a hotel needs to keep an eye on, including; cleaning, hygiene, social distancing, on-site resources, training and awareness.
The certification comes at a crucial moment in the hospitality industry when current and future travellers are demanding watertight reassurance that their travel choice hotels and destinations are clean and safe.
“The coronavirus pandemic has dealt a severe blow to the world economy and the hospitality industry is the most hurt,” said hotel General Manager Barnabas Wamoto.
“Without any effective treatments and vaccines still in development, the only option available is for institutions to instigate preventative measures. We are excited that our hotel has passed all parameters and protocols of hygiene and safety set by SafeHotel. There is no other crucial and coveted certification right now in the world to be more proud of than The SafeHotels CovidClean (TM) Hotel.
Crowne Plaza Nairobi Airport was audited on site by an independent expert from SafeHotel who looked at more than 160 safety & hygiene checkpoints and gave a thumb of approval on all. Besides the CovidClean Certification, the hotel also has another certification on Global Hotel Security Standard by the same organization.
