GA Insurance has launched a new benefits cover to address the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on Kenyans.
Speaking exclusively to Capital Business, the company’s CEO Sandip Bhadury said the new cover is aimed at filling the gap that has been created by the virus.
Those who sign up for the benefits cover only need to pay Sh3,000 with the sum insured being Sh100,000, should they contract COVID-19.
However, a customer must wait 16 days after signing up, to be eligible.
“An infected person may need to be hospitalized for more than 24 hours before getting the amount. Afterward, they are guaranteed the amount, regardless of the expenses,” the CEO said.
The underwriter says it is targeting between 7,000 and 10,000 clients to take up the cover.
Those who sign up must be between 18 years and 60 years.
Kenya has so far recorded 36,576 cases of the virus, including 642 deaths.
