The East African Community Financial Sector comprises of deposits-taking institutions (commercial banks and mortgage finance companies, microfinance banks and deposit-taking Savings and Credit Co-operatives (SACCOS), non-deposits taking institutions (insurance industry, pensions industry, capital markets industry, Development Finance Institutions and several other entities) and financial markets infrastructure providers.
