Launch of Kenya Investment Policy and County Investment Handbook
November 6 @ 7:30 am - 11:00 am
The Cabinet Secretary for Industry, Trade & Cooperatives Hon. Peter G. Munya (EGH) will officiate the launch of the Kenya Investment Policy (KIP) and the County Investment Handbook on Wednesday 6th November, 2019 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Upper-Hill from 7.30 am to 11.00 am. The two documents will play a key role in improvement of the promotion and facilitation of private investment in Kenya.
The event, which brings together Government and Non-Governmental Agencies, County Government Leadership, Policy Makers, Business Leaders, and Development Partners among other stakeholders, will also seek stakeholder feedback on the draft Reserve List for Kenya. The Reserve List is one of the deliverables under the KIP and identifies the activities that should be reserved for local investors including the modalities of rigorously and impartially identifying these activities and revising the list from time to time.
The process of coming up with the Kenya Investment Policy involved stakeholder consultations and meetings aimed at collecting relevant information. A validation workshop of the draft document was held on 29th June, 2017 in Nairobi.
The event is supported by Msingi East Africa, a sector transformation and development organization, seeking to develop the industries of the future in East Africa and to catalyze industrialization in Kenya. Msingi’s work promotes FDI and domestic industrial development through a series of interventions across focus industries that have a high potential of job creation. Msingi is proud to support the launch of these documents that are critical to the ongoing effort to bring much needed investment technology and innovation into Kenya.
