What could the forthcoming AfCFTA Investment Protocol mean to you and your business?
September 14, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
ALP together with the International Trade Center and Hook Tangaza will be hosting the 2nd AfCTFA Private Sector Engagement Series on the AfCFTA Draft Investment Protocol. This is an important session as it highlights the opportunities for African businesses presented by the agreement.
This series will bring together highly acclaimed industry experts from the public and private sector to delve into the contents of the draft protocol and discuss the current issues posed by the myriad investment related agreements that have been developed by the eight regional economic communities recognized by the Africa Union, intra-African Bilateral Investment Treaties (BITs) and BITs between African Countries and counterparties outside the continent. This platform will also consider the traditional investor-state dispute resolution system (ISDS) and the seeming reluctance of African participation to participate in reform efforts.
The discussion will take place on Tuesday 14th September 2021 at 1pm EAT under the theme: “ What could the forthcoming AfCFTA Investment Protocol mean to you and your business ?
