China – Eastern and Southern Africa International Trade Digital Expo Opened Online Today

On 13 Oct., the China-Eastern and Southern Africa International Trade Digital Expo is opened at the CCPIT Exhibition Cloud Platform. The expo is cosponsored by the the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and China-Africa Development Fund (Cad-Fund), and organized by China International Exhibition Center Group Corporation and China Association of Trade in Services.

The expo has attracted 1,013 exhibitors and more than 10,000 buyers are expecting to visit and communicate online. The digital expo covers Agriculture, Manufacturing, Intelligent Manufacturing, Construction & Building Materials, Wholesale & Retail, Transportation, Infrastructure, Information & Communication, Business Service, Medical Supplies & Epidemic Prevention, Fashion & Beauty, Labor Protection, Tourism, Auto Parts, Textiles & Clothing, etc.

The Expo has also set up 13 exhibition pavilions. The “Chinese Brand” Pavilion highlights the Chinese brands, products and services and promote the Chinese brand image. The “Service Trade” Pavilion shows some selected trade service enterprises and promotes the internationalization of the industry chain, value chain and logistics chain. Given the COVID-19 situation, the epidemic prevention industry is also set to be one of the highlights of the virtual expo, helping to meet the needs of Africa.

Since the 2018 Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, China has continued to expand the import from Africa. From January to July this year, the trade volume between China and Africa reached 139.1 billion dollars reaching the highest level in the same period in history. The recognition of African products in the Chinese market has been increasing. With the strong support of Cad-Fund and ITC, more than 20 African companies will showcase their high-quality products on the virtual platform to get closer to Chinese market.

Concurrently, there will be six customized business-to-business meetings in Zoom system, covering mining machinery, agricultural machinery and building materials, agricultural products, tea, automobiles and autoparts, medical care and anti-epidemic and Xinjiang cotton and textile industry.

This digital expo lasts 10 days and will be closed on 22 Oct.
